Shower enclosure planning: correct measuring is the be-all and end-all
Shower entry left or right?
All showers in the range can also be installed mirror-inverted.
Dimension of the outer edge of the glass
The dimension of the outer edge of the glass (corresponds to the adjustment range) is particularly important when installing a shower enclosure. It is measured from the tiled inside corner of the wall. Room conditions such as sloping walls must be taken into account. These can be compensated for with special, transparent plastic compensation profiles of up to 10 mm to ensure that the shower can be installed vertically.
Installation flush with the floor without shower tray
The various shower enclosures can be installed directly on the floor or on flush-to-floor shower elements. Pay particular attention to the outer glass edges of the respective shower when installing flush with the joint. This should sit on the edge of the inside of the shower.
Installation with shower tray
Please always measure from the inside corner of the wall to the outer edge of the tray. These dimensions should be around 1.0 to 3.5 cm larger than the respective adjustment range (= outer edge of the glass) of the selected shower enclosure (optimum fit of 1.5 to 2.5 cm inside the outer edge of the shower tray). Please note that walls protrude from above, as the shower enclosure must then be positioned accordingly. In general, the shower tray tiling should not exceed 1 cm. Pentagonal and semi-circular shower trays should not be tiled over.
Pentagonal shower trays
For pentagonal shower trays, the dimension of each leg of the sloping segment must be 45 cm. The diagonal of the angled segment must be 63.6 cm.
Quadrant shower trays
For quadrant shower trays, the radius of the shower tray must be 55 cm. The radius is determined by measuring the round segment up to the start of the short straight leg K.
You can also determine the radius of a quadrant shower tray by calculating the extension of the short legs K and measuring the distance to the zenith of the outer edge of the tray. This distance must be 22.8 cm (= radius 55 cm). Spirit levels are useful tools for this purpose.
Semi-circular shower trays
For semi-circular shower trays, the radius corresponds to half the width. Semi-circular round showers fit on semi-circular shower trays with a width of 110 cm (= radius 55 cm).
Fitting recess doors
Measure the wall niche from wall to wall, measuring the distances at three different heights: bottom, centre and top. These three determined dimensions must lie within the adjustment range (= niche dimension) of the desired [niche shower enclosure](category:9e125bbabab03e4057a3a3d42377bcc95c) and each wall may only be inclined up to a maximum of 10 mm in relation to the height of the shower enclosure. The adjustment range can be increased by 2 cm or 4 cm using high-gloss aluminium extension profiles. For technical reasons, frameless showers cannot guarantee 100 per cent tightness.
In our shower enclosure range you will find the right shower enclosure for your installation situation, in the desired shape and the required dimensions.
