Shower seals & sealing profiles
Why do you need shower seals?
A shower gasket (also known as a shower profile, splash protection moulding or sealing profile) is the link between two shower walls or the glass wall and the shower tray. It can be easily attached to the glass shower wall and reliably protects against splashing water or minor flooding in the bathroom.
Shower seals also provide reliable protection for level-access or doorless showers. The transparent plastic blends unobtrusively into the appearance of your modern real glass shower.
Have you decided in favour of a new glass shower enclosure? Check the item details to see if sealing profiles are not already included in the scope of delivery.
Which shower seal do you need?
There are putty seals as well as pre-moulded sealing tapes or sealing profiles. All shower seals available from Saxoboard are naturally water-repellent. The carrier material of the sealing profile is usually made of hard plastic. Soft plastic is used for the so-called lip.
You can find out how to seal the shower floor in our detailed instructions:
Plastic sealing profiles are quite flexible and available with different types of seals, such as magnetic seals for sliding doors or special shower door seals. Pre-bent profiles are available for round showers.
If you are looking for a replacement seal, measure the thickness of your glass wall. As standard, the shower seals fit glass thicknesses of 6-8 mm.
<How do you replace the seal?
Shower seals are easy to replace thanks to a simple plug-in system. Clean the edge of the glass and fit the new sealing profile. Simply cut the profile to the required length yourself. You can seal the edges with transparent silicone - and your bathroom is once again protected from splashes and floods.
