Gradient wedges and profile rails
Why do I need slope wedges in the shower?
Safe sealing of edges
Sloping wedges and profile rails are used for watertight installation of the level-access shower with linear drainage (shower channel). They ensure complete sealing at the transitions from the shower area to the horizontal floor and from the shower channel to the wall.
Sealing requirements for showers with shower channels
In order for the water in the level-access shower to drain away, a gradient of at least 2 % towards the drain is required.
In a level-access shower with linear drainage, however, this creates a height difference between the horizontal floor and the lowered shower area. This must be sealed watertight, as must the wall area adjacent to the drain.
Complete sealing of these areas is particularly important, however, as otherwise water may penetrate the floor and wall. The moisture can attack the building fabric and form a breeding ground for mould.
Easy tiling thanks to shower profiles
Laying tiles in showers with a shower channel is also very easy thanks to slope wedges and shower profiles. The edges are neatly sealed with the stainless steel rails without having to laboriously cut tiles to size.
What slope wedges and profile rails are available?
Slope wedge for floor (with glass profile)
The slope wedge serves as a sealing side panel between the horizontal floor and the flush-to-floor shower channel with slope.
The slope wedges are also available with a profile rail for attaching glass partitions. This allows the partitions to be fitted without drilling.
Slope wedge for wall
The slope wedge serves as a sealing side panel between the wall and the sloping floor of the shower area.
Wall connection profile
The shower profile for the wall ensures a secure transition from the lowest point of the shower, namely the linear drain, and the connection to the wall.
Collector profile
The collector profile is a drain channel for linear drainage. It has a built-in gradient so that the water is channelled from the sides to the centre directly into the drain. This prevents stagnant water and the associated unpleasant odours.
Additional accessories: Glass profile shower partition for wall mounting
The glass profile complements the gradient wedge with glass profile. It is used to easily attach shower partitions to the wall. The special feature: the glass profile utilises the joint width between the tiles for fastening. This means there is no need to drill holes and your tiles remain intact.
Advantages of slope wedges
- Sealing the transitions of level-access showers with shower channel/line drainage to the adjacent floor or walls
- Tiling the shower floor without complicated cuts
- Simple installation of glass partitions without drilling
- Uniform, elegant look
